Welcome to Friends from Ohio
Friends from Ohio blends an eclectic mixture of sounds with diverse instrumentation. Born out of the music and creativity of the sixties and seventies, all four members have written and continue to write for the band. From 2004 to the present the band has worked to arrange and record both new and old material. They use an array of acoustic and electric guitars (both six and 12 string), electric bass (4 and 12 string), vocals with rich harmonies, viola, violin, cello, banjo and occasionally a hurdy gurdy, dulcimer or mandolin.
These days the band is somewhat spread out, George is the only member who resides in Ohio. John, Chuck and Steve make their homes in New England, specifically Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. George performs solo and with some friends from his band, TimeZarrow, in northeastern Ohio, making a trek east on a regular basis to contribute his unique songwriting voice and creative input to Friends From Ohio recordings. Steve and Chuck are performing in the northeast as Carey and Jobe. This site will attempt to communicate planned performances by all forms and members of the group.
Our intent, as Friends From Ohio, is to share our music and the messages the songs convey however possible, having fun in the process. Peace, love and understanding to all–going forward!
