Return To The Sea

This song mostly wrote itself and did it rather quickly. It is a song of hope, encouraging us to return to what is real and essential – to let go of the machine, the material world and all it entails, that can drag us down and stifle who we can be. Returning to the sea can be returning to our beginnings, to our source of life and inspiration (our God), to what is good in everyone. We’re free to begin this process again and again – even now.

Chuck plays acoustic guitar and sings lead, John plays the bass, electric lead and 12-string and sings back up vocals, Steve plays viola and sings backup vocals and George plays acoustic guitar.

Return To The Sea

I feel something is coming to my mind
it’s been waiting in the shadows for quite some time.
I’ve been turned around to where the air is cold
But you’ve got to remember we’ve all been told where it ends.

You say this machine is dragging you down
And it’s no good feeling you’re tied to this ground
where the river seems to flow a little slower each day.
Do you think it could be that this isn’t the way to live?

Return to the sea, we live and we dream.
How could it be? We’re free to begin!

I sang a song when the morning began
And promised the sky I would try to understand.
There are just so many people and so many schemes.
Try to remember the beginning and dreams are in you and me.

Return to the sea, we live and we dream.
How could it be? We’re free to begin!
